Human Rights Explained

This module is aimed at providing users with comprehensive training on human rights within a business context. According to the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) businesses are expected to address both their potential and actual adverse impacts on all human rights; as a minimum, the human rights contained in the International Bill of Human Rights and the ILO's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. This module provides users with a quick overview of the UNGPs and trains users in understanding all human rights. That is, the module introduces business related scenarios and offers quizzes and learning resources on 48 human rights extracted from the two main United Nations binding conventions on human rights: the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Users gain a 360˚perpsective on business' positive and negative human rights impacts as well as inspiration for ensuring their respect for the rights.

Managing Human Rights

Managing Human Rights

This module is focused on the process requirements for businesses to become human rights compliant, i.e. respect human rights. Following a brief overview of the basics of human rights to assist users in understanding how businesses can respect human rights, the module trains users in the processes that businesses are expected to implement under the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights: 1) Human Rights Policy, 2) Human Rights Due Diligence and 3) Remediation for Adverse Impacts.

This module is aimed at providing users with a quick introduction to human rights principles within a business context. Starting with an overview of human rights, this module places human rights in a company specific context and enables users to identify both positive and negative human rights impacts by businesses. The module introduces users to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights as a starting point for human rights compliance and outlines selected core and non-core labour rights under the 'International Bill of Human Rights' through common human rights dilemmas faced by businesses.

Tailored specifically for managers, this module builds your understanding of various elements of corruption including bribery, facilitation payments and extortion. This module also delves deeper into the legal framework of anti-corruption by detailing both the UK Bribery Act and the anti-corruption principle in the UN Global Compact. In addition this module will provide you with practical guidance on structuring anti-corruption due diligence processes and anti-corruption policies.
